Sr

I had ye Honnr of kissing his Majs hand
In Counsell Last February at which time I
Layde before them ye Draught of Cannada
river & did Intimate ye good Servis that might
be don Against ye french by two Light Frigats
& a Fire Ship If they were ordred to cruse in
that River in ye months of May June July
& August which are ye Usall months ye french
of these parts have supplies sent from France
& they might be Intruped with Litell Charge
to their Majs whose subjects in these nothern parts
of America are Severly Galed by ye Canada french
& such of ye Heathen who they have profited to
their Intrest; I did Offer my Servis in this afaire
& my Lord Falkland assured me that Ships should
be sent me hear Early next Spring for this occation
& that I should be appointed Commander of them
now if it is ordred that Ships are apointed for
servis Against next spring & that I may be
Estemed worthy of ye trust of being Commandore
I hope according to your wanted friendship to me
you will not forgit to Commend me in this
affare to ye Lords of ye Admerallty to such
others who shall have ye mannedgment of ye
Expedishon. Ye proper time for Ships to Come
out will be in march & It will be nessesary they
be ordred to [tuch] hear before they go upon p2 Their cruse about two Months sence; Ye Estern
Inemy Ingans abated by ye French made three
attemps upon sume of our Fruntear 10 Cases
where they killed & Carreyed away 140 Inglish
& are daley Expecting to hear of more michtif
dun by them sune after my arrivell from
Ye west Inges which was In August Last.
2 Small privateers Slupes 25 men In Each
brought in to this poart a Large f[li] [Boates]
Bound From France to Quebeck Laden with
Stores & other Things Proper for that
Plantation: Valued by their French Invoises
at 19000[£] sterling ye Commanders of ye Said [slups]
repoart that in cannada river where they met
ye f[li] boat their ware ten saile more of vessels
bound up to Quebeck which they saye might
all have bin taken & Distroyed by two Ships
of forse; honored: & kinde Sr I have allredy
bin very Serviceible of your Resects to me
& If I Live & am Capable I Shall Studey
how I may be more gratefull what is all
redey & remains to be done
